Why Is This Animal Campus So Important?

This partnership between Beaufort County Animal Shelter and the Hilton Head Humane Association could not have come at a better time. Right now, the Beaufort County Animal Shelter is barely hanging on. The current shelter remains in a battered state that is too old to renovate. With over 50 years of service, flooding, insulation, and space were major concerns. The partnership with the Hilton Head Humane Association allows everyone to work together from one, core campus. Located on 6.3 acres of land, the campus will expand 21,136 sq. ft. and will house an adoption center, a spay-neuter clinic, the Beaufort County Animal Facility, and much more. With everything being under one roof, this gives us the opportunity to capitalize on the needs that these animals deserve. We help thousands of animals every year, and with the new campus, we can only do more good.
