16 Oct Spay/Neuter Surgeries at Record Highs
Let’s look at the details of our increase in spays and neuters. In 2016 alone, Hilton Head Humane and Beaufort County Animal Shelter spayed and neutered over 4,00 animals. That means that since 2011, HHHA and BCAS have increased spays/neuters by 627%!
This number includes 897 free TNR (Trap, Neuter, Return) provided by HHHA, which includes spay/neuter, testing, vaccines, and ear tip. Also included in 2016’s spay and neuter number was 78 pets that were provided free service through the ASPCA “Keep Pets in Their Homes” grant.Make A Donation Today
At our new Animal Campus, we will only continue to perform more spay/neuter surgeries to even more pets. According to Animal Control Management: A Guide for Local Governments, “Spaying and neutering lie at the foundation of any effective animal control program.”
