It Costs Less to Prevent Than to Treat

It Costs Less to Prevent Than to Treat

In five years, we have reduced our euthanasia rates by 45%! In 2011, 62% of our animals had to be put down due to different reasons. This includes aggression as well as an illness that we could not treat. Fast forward to 2016, and our percentage of euthanized animals dropped to 17%.

We have come leaps and bounds in the past five years. However, we only want to continue to reduce our euthanasia rate. The new animal campus will allow us to create a more efficient, environmentally sound, and healthy facility. This will aid in the excessive level of noise, air exchange, and decay which our current facility is experiencing firsthand. These factors have been prohibiting us from effectively and efficiently reduce our euthanasia.

Here are a few of our areas of focus we plan to capitalize on to encourage our goal:

  1. Microchip, microchip, microchip!
  2. High volume-affordable spay/neuter
  3. Trap, Neuter, Return (TNR)
  4. Bite Prevention Education
