Climbing Live Release Rate

Climbing Live Release Rate

We’ve mentioned that last year we had a live release rate of 79%. This number was better than last year’s with a rate of 72%, but significantly better since five years ago. In 2011, our live release rate was as low as 33%. Live release is defined by the animals who leave the shelter alive through adoption, return to owner, or are relocated to another organization for adoption.

Out of the 3,268 animals that were released last year, 610 were adopted, 1,428 were relocated, and 533 to returned to their owners.

This number is especially important to us as we continue to strive for higher percentages in our new location on Okatie Hwy.
